Measuring and Monitoring Systems
Overhead Crane Indicators
|
The overhead Gantry Crane System is designed to protect the hoist and support structure from overload. Therefore the system provides many benefits to the customer.
The standard system is provided with a visual display.
There are great manufacturing variations in Overhead Gantry Cranes. The Load Monitoring Equipment is installed either into the Equalising Sheave or inline with the Dead End rope connection. |
The Standard System Configuration |
- The Design is Modular.
- Operates with standard and custom build load cells.
- Optional Visual and audible devices provide warnings.
- Digital Displays are available in different sizes for load indication.
- The standard system has two independent relays, they are used to prevent.
(I) Hoist up of the load.
(ii) Provide an audible or visual warning of approaching overload. - The installer can wire the relays to motion cut and prevent further unsafe actions
- Trip setting are flexible, e.g.
(i) Set Point for visual warning at 90% of SWL or crane capacity;
(ii) Set Point for an audible alarm at 95% of crane capacity.
(iii) Set Point to motion cut hoist up. (Other functions can also be disabled.) - IP65 rated components are used (weatherproof and dust proof).
- Simple and easy to install by Crane Technicians.
- The system is available to suit various voltages

Dynamometer or Running Line Tensiometers
Simple reliable design.
Prevents stress and breaking cables.
Designed to continually monitor tension loads on wire rope.
Tensiometers are put to use on mobile cranes.
Drilling rigs to measure drill bit pressure.
Towing applications for ships or the fishing industry.
The design is simple. Three precision roller bearing sheaves are mounted in a rigid frame. The rope to be monitored is threaded through the sheaves. As tension increases the centre sheave applies pressure against the load pin load cell. This force is transmitted as an electrical signal to the display as a direct reading of the line tension.

Static Tensiometer Systems
|
Precision Instruments designed for installation, inspection and maintenance of all types of static cable load applications where tension accuracy is critical and by using cable deflection averaging. These tensiometers measure cable load accurately within 5 %. Readings can be taken directly from the loaded or tensioned cables, all fittings in place. The measurements are reliable and work is done quickly and safely. Models are available to suit different rope diameters.

Conveyor Monitors Systems
Designed to extend the life of conveyor belts and provide additional safety features for the Conveyor System
|
|
Load Cells are installed on either side of the conveyor. As you can see the Load Cells are connected to a take-up winch, which applies the tension to each side of the conveyor. The Load Cells monitor the tension on the take-up winches. This System can provide a read-out of the tension applied to each side of the conveyor or alternatively a 4 - 20mA signal for inputs into PLC Systems. This enables the installer or maintenance department to accurately adjust and set the tension on each side of the conveyor belt.
Thereby reducing belt wear and tear, which will ultimately assist to reduce ongoing maintenance costs. In other words the Conveyor Belt Monitoring |
| System pays for itself by protecting and reducing the maintenance of the conveyor system. Various models are available to suit the various Conveyor Systems. We can cater for most of these systems. Electric motors have current sensing overload protection devices installed, however they cannot operate or monitor the conveyor with the same degree of speed, accuracy or efficiency that is provided by the installation of Load Cells. |
